Job Overview
Be our next Electrical Designer/Engineer (Remote) in East Coast U.S.! Join EXP, an employee‑owned company dedicated to innovative solutions for built and natural environments.
Responsibilities- Meet engineering quality levels for assigned projects.
- Oversee design concept development and ensure proper application.
- Verify design work quality, including specifications, reports, code application, and submittals.
- Mentor and encourage development of Designer‑level staff.
- Apply firm risk management practices in project engineering.
- Lead discipline design to produce construction documents that meet project requirements within schedule and budget.
- Execute complex electrical designs with conflicting requirements or difficult coordination.
- Write studies and reports for electrical systems on projects.
- Manage work plans and deliverables across multiple projects within budgeted hours.
- Front‑end load projects and apply best practices to set proper direction in SDs and DDs.
- Guide designers on preparation of one‑line diagrams.
- Respond to RFIs and accurately review submittals.
- Solve installation problems and travel to site to resolve issues.
- Provide guidance for electrical load calculations and panel schedules.
- Apply knowledge of NEC and other codes.
- Understand emergency and normal power systems and lighting controls.
- Apply concepts of voltage drop, conductor sizing, and harmonics.
- Edit electrical specifications and schedule equipment.
- Meet with vendors to determine specification requirements for application.
- Understand circuit breaker coordination and application.
- 2+ years’ experience in electrical design for rail/transit and building projects.
- Thorough knowledge of NEC and building codes.
- Experience using SKM Power Tools or similar software for engineering calculations (preferred).
- AutoCAD and/or Revit MEP proficiency.
- BS Electrical Engineering or equivalent degree.
- EIT preferred.
