Overview

AVTECH Global is looking for an Aircraft Component Repair Liaison Engineer in Tulsa, OK.

Position Purpose

Liaison engineering supporting heavy maintenance base operations at aircraft MROs and/or aircraft component repairs at component MROs.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities

Essential Functions:

  • Providing technical dispositions (via Engineering Authorizations) and guidance for aircraft issues that exceed published limits for structural damage including sheet metal and composite repairs. This often includes performing a structural analysis.
  • Providing work deviation authorization, interpretation of service documents & Engineering Orders.
  • Providing options for repairing versus replacing a part to minimize financial impact.
  • Providing aircraft system trouble shooting assistance to Base Maintenance.
  • Attending daily production meetings and pre-induction meetings to ensure timely support.
  • Providing on-site engineering assistance for significantly damaged line aircraft as required.
  • Coordinating events/issues with Engineering Fleet Groups for additional action, troubleshooting and follow-up.
  • Monitoring trends and recurring discrepancies requiring corrective action. Developing Typical Repairs and manual supplements to eliminate repetitive BA requests.
Education and Experience Requirements
  • BS Degree (or higher) in Aeronautical, Aerospace, Mechanical, or Structural Engineering
  • Two plus (2+) years in specific technical discipline
Required Unique Skills
  • Ability to perform structural analysis to substantiate repairs
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong investigative, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Self-motivated, conscientious and ability to prioritize multiple tasks
  • Knowledge of FARs, FAA policies, and vendor manuals (AMM, IPC, CMM)
  • Must be willing to work a flexible work schedule to meet internal customer s needs
  • Aviation engineering experience (aircraft/airline/MRO) desired
Location / Travel

This is a REMOTE position with no relocation requirement. Travel to clients will be required once per month (minimum) for 3-4 days at a time. All travel costs are covered (including flights, hotel, rental car, GSA per diem, etc.). Additionally, travel locations/frequency are subject to change with advanced notice depending on where coverage is needed.

Compensation

This is a salary position with a pay rate based on experience, etc.
