Role DescriptionWJA is seeking Structural Engineers (Level II / III) to join our Seattle office. These are full-time, hybrid positions with flexibility for some remote work. We are hiring multiple engineers at this level.
In this role, you will perform structural analysis and design, contribute to construction documents, and collaborate closely with architects, engineers, and contractors. Candidates should be comfortable working independently on typical systems while continuing to grow technical depth and project responsibility.
Key Responsibilities- Perform structural calculations and analysis for gravity, lateral, and seismic systems
- Develop efficient, code-compliant structural solutions
- Prepare and contribute to construction documents
- Coordinate with architects, other engineers, and contractors
- Support projects through all phases of design and construction
- Mentor junior staff as appropriate (SE III level)
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (structural emphasis preferred)
- 2–8 years of professional structural engineering experience
- PE license preferred, or actively pursuing licensure with PE achievable in the near term
- Strong background in structural analysis and design
- Experience producing construction documents for a variety of building types
- Clear communication skills and a collaborative mindset
- Experience with high-performance buildings is a plus
Our structural team supports a wide range of project types, including:
- Federal and public-sector facilities
- Institutional and civic buildings
- Renovations and adaptive reuse
- High-performance and energy-efficient buildings
Projects frequently involve wood, steel, concrete, and CMU systems, with a strong emphasis on seismic design and constructability.
