is seeking a motivated entry-level professional, preferably with 1 - 3 years of professional experience, to join our growing team. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a new, up-and-coming, collaborative firm where your contributions have a direct impact.

You could be the right fit for Black River if you are looking to join a high-performing team of Environmental Engineers, Geologists, and Hydrogeologists who are passionate about:

What You’ll Do

Our team is small, and we all wear many hats. This means you’ll gain experience across a wide variety of responsibilities, including:

Expect to be in the field about 50% of your time, with variability depending on project needs and seasonality.
  • Supporting project tasks and coordination: Assist project managers and senior staff with day-to-day project tasks, including field work coordination and preparation, coordination with subcontractors, and preparation of project documentation. Over time, you’ll gain exposure to scopes, budgets, and invoicing with mentorship and support.
  • Analyzing and compiling environmental data: Compile, analyze, and visualize environmental data, including preparing hydro graphs, tables, figures, geologic cross-sections, contaminant plume maps, and contributing to the development of conceptual site models.
  • Assisting with proposals and technical reports: Support the preparation of technical deliverables such Phase I/II Environmental Site Assessments, Remedial Investigations, Feasibility Studies, Cleanup Action Plans, and Remedial Action Reports, with guidance and review from senior staff.
  • Collaborating and communicating with project teams: Work alongside project managers, senior technical staff, and teammates to support effective communication with clients, subcontractors, regulators, and other stakeholders. Opportunities for direct interaction will increase as experience and confidence grow.
  • Contributing to company initiatives and operations: As time allows and based on your interests, support various internal initiatives and business operations such as graphic design and social media, health and safety program management, diversity and inclusion program development, field equipment maintenance or management, marketing and proposal support, etc.
