You will join our Vessel Automation & Sensing Solution team. We are responsible for integrated automation system (IAS) deliveries to ship owners in the offshore and merchant segments. Our team is specialized in the fields of LNG process simulation and control, and vessel automation control and alarm handling.

We work closely with our internal product teams to improve engineering tools and shape new product capabilities. Alongside this, we plan and carry out technical feasibility studies that strengthen our customer offerings, with a strong focus on emission-reducing solutions. Much of this work happens in close cooperation with customers and our sales team. Since our projects involve colleagues and partners from around the world, you’ll also get the chance to travel for sea and gas trials, as well as commissioning support—bringing your work to life out on the vessels themselves.

Responsibilities
  • Create specifications for functionality and interface for automation on board LNG/FSRU/other gas related vessels.
  • Realise functionalities and control gas processes by developing and adapting Software applications.
  • Participate actively as a member of the project delivery team to ensure successful execution of customer projects.
  • Assist KM offices globally with technical solutions, QA control and start-up on shipyards.
  • Follow-up solutions, contracts and shipments of hardware to third party suppliers.
  • Develop test/verification documentation. Conduct internal and external FAT/IAT.
  • Be responsible for the use of design rules and technical improvements.
  • Be a technical advisor to project manager and assist sales with technical competency.
  • Travel as required.
Qualifications and experience
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in automation, software, cybernetics, process, or systems engineering
  • Relevant experience from the maritime industry, ships, shipyards may compensate for lack of formal education.
  • Fluent communication in Norwegian and English
  • High level of system competency on LNG vessels
