Forensic Structural Engineer, P.E.
Haag, a Salas O’Brien company and leader in forensic engineering and consulting since 1924, is seeking an experienced Forensic Structural Engineer in the Houston, TX area. Working from your home office and our office in Sugar Land, TX, you will investigate and evaluate the cause and extent of damage following storms, natural disasters, fires/explosions, construction/design defects, accidents, foundation movement, and more.
Qualifications- Licensed P.E. in TX or eligible by reciprocity.
- 5‑10 years of forensic engineering experience preferred; 2 years required.
- Willing and able to perform physical requirements of the job, including working in confined spaces and on roofs, carrying ladders, and operating other equipment.
- Ability to travel locally, regionally, and nationally by vehicle or plane as needed.
- Must be able to work independently and with a cross‑functional team of experts.
- Strong technical writing skills and the ability to produce effective reports.
- Strong verbal communication skills; effective face‑to‑face communicator.
- Ability to provide the utmost customer service to our clients.
- Technical proficiency with computers, phones, cameras, etc.
- Expert Witness experience preferred.
- Legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship or restrictions.
Bachelor of Science degree in Civil/Structural Engineering from an ABET‑accredited university is required. A Master of Science degree in Civil/Structural Engineering is desirable.
The total compensation range for this position is $125,000 – $240,000 per year. The base salary range is $125,000 to $185,000. Variable compensation range is $0 to $55,000 per year, but is not limited to that.
