Principal Consultant

Overview

Schneider Electric Systems USA, Inc. seeks a Principal Consultant in Houston, TX.

• Lead, execute, and deliver chemical and refining engineering simulation projects, including project management and scheduling, for oil and gas industry.
• Coordinate various project aspects with different teams, from software support to customer interfacing.
• Participate in sales calls and meetings to demonstrate the company’s product capabilities.
• Deliver and install the company’s systems.
• Interface with the client, senior managers, project managers, and lead a team of junior engineers, as well as interface with senior content specialists.
• Plan and conduct meetings such as internal kickoff, client kickoff, regular project reviews, status meetings, model acceptance tests, factory acceptance tests, and site acceptance tests.
• Develop chemical engineering functional specifications, project schedules, execution plans, work packages, testing plans, and project documentation.
• Enforce industry standard quality management procedures.
• Eligible for remote work 2 days per week.
• Up to 25% travel required to client sites to deliver projects and complete site acceptance testing.

• Position requires a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Chemical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or related field.
• Experience (3 years with Bachelor’s or 1 year with Master’s) in distributed control system and safety instrumented system engineering, or related occupation.
• Must include experience in: calculating temporal differential equations and solution methodologies; utilizing chemical/refining process technology and unit operations (drums, separators, heat exchangers, compressors, turbines, distillation columns, dryers, absorbers, evaporators, reactors); reading and interpreting process flow drawings; reading and interpreting process control diagrams, regulatory control, advanced process control, safety systems, sequence systems, and PLCs; interfacing with distributed control systems and HMIs; reading P&IDs, PFDs, cause and effect diagrams;
  
  using operating manuals, control logic, SIS functionality, shutdown/startup procedures.
