THE WORKThe Global Sustainment organization in King of Prussia, PA is looking for an experienced professional in the Hardware Engineering field. The candidate will support rapid fielding systems, which requires the ability to shift priorities as necessary for successful results. The candidate selected would be part of the Global Sustainment organization supporting emerging programs and current efforts. This organization supports ground-based systems, primarily made up of Commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) equipment.
The candidate will support the design and development of new systems, and the transition to sustainment once these systems are fielded. The candidate will be responsible for creating, maintaining, and version control of system drawings, diagrams, parts lists, and other necessary artifacts. Additionally, the candidate would assist solutioning obsolete hardware replacements and ensuring requirements mapping for replacement items. The candidate will also assist developing designs for the installation of components and assemblies into chassis, racks, cabinets, workstations, and/or shelters.
The candidate will act as the conduit between sustainment and development teams ensure designs are sustainable. The candidate will become knowledgeable enough on the systems to be able to sustain fielded systems at CONUS and OCONUS locations.
This position is required to be in the King of Prussia, PA facility. However, there is some flexibility to work from home with advance coordination with the manager.
This position will require occasional travel to support program initiatives.
The candidate must have a Top Secret clearance to start.
Essential Responsibilities- Must have strong inter-personal skills, have the ability to work within a team, and be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in design software for part and assembly design, and associated configuration management tool for managing engineering data and documentation.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, materials selection, and Design for Manufacturability (DFM) principles.
- Experience in creating detailed engineering drawings within CAD software in compliance with ASME Y14.100 standards.
- Experience with rack based designs and COTS hardware integration.
- Ability to perform routine, preventive and corrective maintenance.
- General knowledge of electronic equipment and ability to read and understand basic interconnect diagrams or other schematics.
- Experience in hardware design and interpretation/development of Engineering Drawings, Parts Lists, and/or Bill of Materials.
- Minimum Bachelor of Science in Engineering discipline.
- Highly motivated, detail-oriented individual with the ability to follow through on commitments.
- Experience with the Enterprise Product Data Management (EPDM) Tool.
- Prior experience with Engineering change processes and change orders.
- Prior experience monitoring system obsolescence reporting and tracking high-priority items to end-of-life.
