We are looking for a Project Traffic Engineer to complement our Transportation team in our Raleigh, NC office. The position involves working directly with staff including engineers, technicians and administrative staff on pursuit, development, and execution of traffic engineering projects. You will work with many different ms team members within the Transportation Business Unit.
About The Transportation Business UnitThe Transportation Business Unit provides transportation engineering services for all project types and scopes, from the largest interstate systems to local municipality roads. Services include roadway and intersection design, corridor improvements, bridge replacement and rehabilitation, and environmental documentation. Our traffic, highway, structural, and environmental planning engineers collaborate to deliver innovative, cost-effective, and long-term transportation solutions.
What You'll Do- Perform traffic analysis and preparation of traffic studies, safety and reports
- Traffic Signal Design and Plan preparation
- Signing and Pavement Marking Plan preparation
- Traffic Management Plan preparation
- Provide assistance with feasibility studies, environmental planning documents, and proposing changes for highway projects to improve traffic efficiency and safety
- Leading designated task assignments and reporting progress to senior staff
- Oversee final project plan and document preparation
- Communicate with clients and potential clients to obtain and execute projects to client satisfaction
- Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited college or University is required, or equivalent experience
- Professional Engineering License (PE)
- Demonstrated traffic engineering experience
- Familiarity with MUTCD, and NCDOT policies and procedures
- Proficiency in Micro Station or AutoCAD
- Experience with HCS and Guide Sign software
- Familiarity with Synchro, VISSIM, and Transmodeler software preferred
- Ability to lead, provide direction and collaborate effectively in a team environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
