As the Functional Application Specialist, you will be responsible for the optimal configuration, maintenance and continuous development of our Delmia Digital Manufacturing software application. Delmia is a vital engineering application supporting our complex naval shipbuilding projects. Acting as the link between the Manufacturing department, our in-house IT organisation and the Delmia Customer Support team, you will drive application improvements, support digital initiatives and contribute to a strategic technology roadmap that enhances application integration, process efficiency and scalability to meet evolving project needs.

• Maintain, support, and further professionalize Delmia within the Manufacturing department.
• Translate business needs into functional specifications for the application developments. Analyze issues collaboratively with stakeholders and devise solutions.
• Develop and implement application processes and functionalities.
• Maintain relationships with suppliers and knowledge partners.
• Manage interfaces between related applications.
• Maintain user access rights administration within the application.
• Provide functional support to PLM users with regards to Delmia
• Organize application-related training courses in coordination with the Manager Manufacturing Engineering.
• Prepare and develop training materials, tips, application documentation, and user manuals.
• Implement, explain, and take ownership of Delmia, acting as the primary escalation point for incidents, changes, and user/improvement requests.

We are looking for candidates with the following qualifications:

• Bachelor degree or proven competence in engineering, preferably in the field of Shipbuilding.
• Knowledge of PLM principles and experience with functional application management is preferred.
• Advanced knowledge of IT/IM products, services, and processes, particularly within a technical and/or Manufacturing Engineering environment.
• Strong experience with 3D design and engineering applications, PDM solutions, and engineering analysis tools; experience with Delmia is an advantage.
• Proven experience in application configuration, development, and maintenance within a complex, project‑driven or engineering context.
• Strong analytical, communication, and coordination skills, with the ability to work across multidisciplinary teams.
• Good command of the English language, both written and verbal; knowledge of Dutch is considered an advantage.
• Excellent references, as a security screening is part of the hiring process.
• Permanent EU citizenship and passport are both required. Candidates with EU (work) visa or with both an EU and non-EU nationality and/or passport are not eligible in accordance with the requirements imposed by the military nature of our projects.
