Process Engineer, Environmental Engineer
The CO2 Utilization department oversees Research and Technology activities pertaining to Efuel (thermoconversion, electro-conversion and new reactors), ex-situ mineralization and other CO2-based molecules. Most of the technical team is located in Belgium while a small team is based in Houston to open to the world and pilot the activity. The job will combine a general role as technical referent in Houston CO2 Utilization team across the whole CO2 Utilization activity and a more specific dimension on specific R&T studies and projects.
Activities- Act as CO2 Utilization technical referent in Houston CO2 Techno Hub Team
- Scout for new technologies
- Review technical documentation (publication, reports,…) and prepare short feedback for the Houston management
- Provide assistance to answer adhoc technical questions
- Understand and establish connections with the local actors active in the domain
- Participate to meetings with external stakeholders (licensors, contractors, academics,…)
- Participate to local relevant conferences
- Act as primary technical focal point in CO2 conversion Start-Ups and innovation ecosystem scouting
- Participate to start-ups screening and follow-up
- Assist the Houston scouting team by providing quick and sound technical feedback when required and make the link with expert network in HQ
- Act as a link between CO2 Techno Hub CODIR in Houston and the CO2 Utilization labs and engineering workforce in Belgium
- Keep an overview of the overall projects handled by the technical team in Belgium
- Alert the management in Houston in case of weak signals
- Assist in prioritizing and arbitrating subjects especially during the budget period
- Coordinate CO2 conversion R&D studies and projects:
- Propose and define projects in agreement with internal and external stakeholders and partners
- Coordinate and follow-up projects
- Coordinate all stakeholders involved, including third parties
- Analyze and validate generated results
- Report and communicate results to stakeholders
- PHD, master's degree or equivalent in CO2 conversion related domain (chemical, process, catalysts, …)
- Ability to work effectively across the globe from US
- Well organized, rigorous, autonomous and good ability for synthesis
- Minimum 10 years experience
