What Your Job Will Be Like:We are seeking a General Technologist for our Mission Assurance Technical Support organization. The selected candidate will utilize quality assurance programs, procedures, and controls to ensure that performance and quality of products and services conform to standards. One will work directly with programs and projects to conduct oversight of assembly and testing to enforce programmatic, customer, and regulatory agency requirements. Onany given day, one may be called upon to:
- Establish and implement inspections before systems are processed or installed
- Monitor work practices; ensures that corrective actions are implemented
- Work with engineering and development during new product or facility start‑ups and implements key checkpoints for new products and processes
- Handle the acceptability of labeling and packaging materials; maintain an inspection and approval system
- Read blueprints/drawings and specifications to ensure products meet standards
- Use gadgets to measure products (e.g., micrometer screw gauges)
- Accept or reject finished products and discuss inspection results with team
- Review, maintain and process procedures and work instructions during and after builds or products or assemblies
- Travel to off‑site locations to support fielding and test activities
Due to the nature of the work this candidate must be able to work onsite.
Salary Range$72,800 - $140,600
* Salary range is estimated, and actual salary will be determined after consideration of the selected candidate's experience and qualifications, and application of any approved geographic salary differential.
Qualifications We Require- High School diploma, plus 3 years directly related experience
- Experience with mechanical and/or electrical design, assembly, repair, and installation processes
- Experience in Microsoft Office and Adobe
- Active Q Clearance
- Knowledge of Sandia National Laboratory's test and measurement, and inspection policies, practices, and procedures
- Knowledge of electrical and mechanical components; the ability to determine value, markings, and proper orientation
- Knowledge of machining and mechanical assembly practices
- Experience with frequent use and application of technical standards, principles, theories, concepts, and techniques
- Experience with preparation and presentation of test and measurement results
- The ability to model behaviors that reflect Sandia's core values
- Experience with PLM tools such as PDMLink/Windchill or ARAS/AEMS
