• Understand and evaluate Mazda vehicle safety systems, proposing strategic improvements based on competitor benchmarking
• Maintain comprehensive knowledge of crash test ratings programs and ensure Mazda vehicles achieve optimal safety ratings
• Attend crash testing, coordinating with teams to ensure adherence to testing protocols and manufacturer recommendations
• Support the development of compliance plans for emerging crash safety regulations and participate in industry working groups
• Collect and analyze crash data trends to identify opportunities for enhancing crash safety systems

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (all disciplines)
• Minimum of 8+ years of related experience in automotive crash testing and occupant protection solutions
• Experience with crash testing labs and organizations such as IIHS and NHTSA
• Proven project management skills and experience in developing relationships with government and industry representatives
• Current, valid State driver’s license and satisfactory driving record

• Experience with advanced safety systems like airbags and child restraints
• Familiarity with FMVSS and the rule making process
• Excellent public speaking skills with experience in cross-cultural communication
• Proficiency in data analytics and visualization tools like Excel, Tableau, or Power BI
• Positive attitude and eagerness to learn and adapt in a dynamic environment
