Overview

Connecticut Innovations (“CI”) is Connecticut’s strategic venture capital arm, and we are passionate about serving our portfolio of 220+ companies across various industries, with strengths in life sciences, technology, and climate tech.

Come join Noteworthy AI - Routine fleet operations. Extraordinary grid insights as a Edge Software Engineer!

Noteworthy AI Overview

At Noteworthy AI, our mission is to improve the reliability, resiliency, and safety of the electric grid. Our vehicle-mounted cameras and AI help utilities and other grid operators increase their situational awareness of their assets while reducing costs.

Our platform autonomously geolocates, photographs, and analyzes grid infrastructure as vehicles drive during routine operations, enabling more proactive grid management.

As we expand, we’re looking for an Edge Software Engineer to join our growing team and help design, build, and optimize the software that runs on our vehicle-mounted edge devices. In this role, you’ll work closely with our AI, hardware, and platform teams to ensure reliability of our edge systems, build fleet management tools, and help develop our next-generation hardware platform.

If you enjoy solving complex systems problems at the intersection of software, hardware, and machine learning, and want your work to have a direct impact on grid reliability, we’d love to hear from you!

About You

You are a hands-on engineer who enjoys building software that runs close to the hardware and performs reliably in real-world conditions. You are comfortable debugging issues that span software, operating systems, and physical devices, and you take pride in making systems more robust, observable, and scalable over time.

You’re motivated by working on meaningful problems and want your work to have a tangible impact. You collaborate well across disciplines, communicate clearly, and are excited to work at the intersection of edge computing, computer vision, and machine learning. You thrive in an environment where ownership matters, ambiguity is part of the job, and thoughtful engineering decisions directly influence product quality and customer outcomes

Job Responsibilities
  • Ensure Edge System Reliability:
Debug and resolve issues across edge devices, including power management, sensors, connectivity, and operating system behavior. Improve system stability and resilience in real-world operating conditions.
  • Develop Edge Software Pipelines:
Design, build, and optimize software for data capture, preprocessing, and handoff to downstream AI systems, with a focus on performance, reliability, and scalability.
  • Build Fleet Management Tooling:
Develop tooling and infrastructure to support fleet operations, including device health monitoring, logging, observability, and over-the-air (OTA) updates.
  • Validate Hardware and Integrations:
Test and validate hardware configurations across cameras, sensors, and compute platforms. Partner with hardware teams to ensure smooth integration and deployment.
  • Support Next-Generation Platforms:
Contribute to the design and development of our next-generation edge hardware and software platform, incorporating learnings from field deployments and production usage.
Qualifications

Required:

  • 2-4 years working with embedded systems, edge devices, or IoT
  • Strong Python and/or C++ skills
  • Linux systems experience; comfortable with hardware debugging
  • Understanding of computer vision pipelines or sensor data processing

Nice to Have:

  • Fleet management or IoT systems at scale
  • Automotive or rugged hardware experience
  • LiDAR, camera systems, or 3D sensors
What We Offer
  • Competitive Compensation:
Attractive salary, equity options, and a comprehensive benefits package.
  • Impact:
Be part of a company that’s directly impacting the future of energy with innovative AI solutions.
  • Growth:
