What Your Job Will Be Like:

Do you want to join a dynamic team that helps tackle some of the most challenging issues facing our nation
¿ s security? You could be the Senior Electronics Control Systems Engineer to contribute to realization of computer control and monitoring systems for advanced pulsed power, laser, diagnostic, and support systems used in high‑energy‑density science experiments. You will be part of multidisciplinary science and engineering teams doing cutting‑edge research and technology development to support NNSA's Stockpile Stewardship program. We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Controls Engineer/LabVIEW Programmer with a scientific or engineering background to join our team.

On any given day, you may be called on to:

  • Collaborate directly with Pulsed Power scientists, engineers, technologists, and project management personnel to achieve successful realization of control systems.
  • Architect, develop, and deploy control software and hardware to meet system design requirements.
  • Implement LabVIEW test or application code in an object‑oriented method.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve control software and hardware anomalies.
  • Manage project schedules, resources, and integration of pulsed power systems.
  • Prepare system design, performance, and user documentation.
  • Lead technical reviews and publish results in peer reviewed journals

Due to the nature of the work, the selected applicant must be able to work onsite.

Salary Range:

$114,000 - $227,500

* Salary range is estimated, and actual salary will be determined after consideration of the selected candidate's experience and qualifications, and application of any approved geographic salary differential.

Qualifications We Require:
  • A Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline and five (5) years of directly relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of directly relevant education and engineering or scientific experience that demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and ability to perform independent research and development.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Q clearance
Qualifications We Desire:
  • Graduate degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a highly related field where an independent research project was a graduation requirement (e.g., independent project, thesis, or dissertation).
  • Demonstrated experience with analog and digital circuit design and analysis.
  • Hands‑on experience testing and de‑bugging circuitry, with clear mastery of tools such as oscilloscopes, logic/network/spectrum analyzers, function/pulse generators, etc.
  • Proven experience with design and analysis tools (e.g., Matlab and LabVIEW), analog simulation codes (e.g., LTSpice), and HDL simulation codes (e.g.,Model Sim).
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams.
