Transmission Line Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Transmission Line Engineer to lead and execute overhead design and structural projects using PLSCADD. The role demands independent planning, scheduling, and coordination of detailed project phases while collaborating with other engineering disciplines and project management teams. The ideal candidate will provide mentorship and technical reviews for junior staff, while also developing proposals and conducting external presentations.

The engineer will resolve complex technical issues, monitor project progress, and ensure efficient production by identifying and correcting discrepancies in analytical results.

• Execute overhead transmission line and structural design projects using PLSCADD.
• Provide expert consultation and mentorship in engineering disciplines.
• Plan, schedule, conduct, and coordinate detailed project phases independently.
• Develop technical proposals and deliver external presentations.
• Resolve complex technical issues and monitor project performance.
• Identify and correct technical discrepancies in analytical results.
• Recommend design alterations to improve quality and efficiency.

• Bachelor’s degree in Structural, Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering required;
  Master’s degree preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years of progressive engineering experience.
• Proficiency with PLSCADD, AutoCAD, Revit, and Micro Station.
• Expert knowledge of structural analysis and transmission line design.
• Understanding of QA/QC procedures and business practices in engineering.
• Effective leadership and team collaboration skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office software.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Professional Engineer License (PE) preferred.
• EIT preferred; candidates are encouraged to pursue.
• Participation in a professional engineering society/organization preferred.
• Experience with additional software such as Blue Beam, FAD, LPile is advantageous.
• Curiosity and a proactive approach to learning and problem-solving.

The work environment offers flexibility with a hybrid arrangement preferred, but fully remote work is available for candidates with strong transmission line design experience. Proximity to any client office is advantageous but not mandatory. The role involves working within a collaborative team environment, with opportunities for growth and involvement in various projects driven by leading utilities.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Albany, NY.

The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $45.00/hr.
