Job Description
The Controls Engineer designs and develops PLC programs for material handling equipment. This position requires comprehensive knowledge of equipment, business, and customer requirements that drive the design of technical solutions. The role involves participating in all phases of the product development lifecycle, including analysis, design, electrical designs, installation support, and debugging. The Controls Engineer works independently to resolve site requirement changes and support solutions to complete designed equipment installation.
Responsibilities- Program systems to support equipment requirements in collaboration with internal engineering/project management and customers.
- Support electrical installation by interfacing with electrical installers.
- Debug electrical installation of controls and motor components.
- 3+ years of experience in controls engineering
- Proficiency in PLC programming, specifically with Allen-Bradley and Rockwell RSLogix
- Experience with automation and material handling equipment, including conveyors and Studio 5000
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology
- Ability to travel 65-75% of the time
Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with state-of-the-art automation software
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently
This position requires travel 65%-75% of the time, with travel across the country to client sites. The typical schedule involves a 10-day on-site period followed by 4 days off. Travel expenses are covered, and candidates are eligible for a daily per diem. This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Cincinnati, OH.
Pay And BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $30.00 - $50.00/hr.
