Opportunity OverviewWe are looking for an Electric Distribution Designer / GIS Drafter to support the planning, design, and documentation of electric distribution projects for all residential and commercial customers. This is a 7‑month hybrid contract position based in Phillips, WI, with up to 25% travel, requiring a mix of onsite and remote work.
Your Day-to-Day- Review new customer requests and project information in SAP
- Create, revise, and maintain electric distribution drawings using GE Small world GIS
- Prepare 2D and 3D models, sketches, working drawings, and contract documents
- Read and interpret customer requirements, data sheets, engineering drawings, and blueprints
- Coordinate with engineering, architectural, and technical services staff under the direction of a supervisor
- Conduct field visits to residential, commercial, or construction sites (approximately 30% of the role)
- Prepare documentation to support design drawings, including bills of material and schedules
- Assist engineering personnel with drawing transmittals and addressing construction‑related questions
- Experience with GE Small world GIS or AutoCAD
- Background in electrical, utility, construction, or infrastructure environments
- Experience preparing 2D/3D models and design documentation
- High School Diploma or GED

WECTEC Staffing Services offers competitive pay to all of our employees. The base salary range for this position, which is dependent upon experience, qualifications, and skills, is estimated to be $30-34/hr.
