Kongsberg Maritime is seeking a skilled Electrical and Automation Engineer to join our Anchoring & Mooring‑engineering team within Merchant Handling Systems
. The team is responsible for creating designs for customized outbound deck machinery projects, as well as keeping the product portfolio up to date and competitive.
As a part of this team, your key role is to develop and maintain designs for electrical and control systems for products with a varying range of complexity and requirements. You will collaborate closely with colleagues from other engineering disciplines to optimize time‑to‑market and deliver effective, efficient solutions to our customers. Your onboarding is supported by senior team members and line manager.
The team is located in our Rauma office.
- Review Customer technical requirements.
- Create software for PLC:s
- Create system design solutions and documentation for our EtO (Engineer to Order) –projects.
- Integrate software and hardware solutions to create cohesive solutions.
- Test and verify that requirements are met.
- Take ownership and responsibility in the team’s timely deliveries.
- Participate in the continuous improvement processes for our solutions and services.
- Support our internal and external stakeholders with answers, explanations and statements.
- Report and communicate progress and obstacles.
- Relevant work experience and/or educational degree in electrical engineering / automation.
- Ability to turn customer requirements into functional solutions.
- Adherence to project timelines, ability to multiple overlapping projects.
- Willingness to travel occasionally to support e.g. commissioning, sea trials or fault diagnosis.
- Experience with Siemens S7 1200 and/or ABB (Code Sys).
- Hands‑on experience and attitude.
- Innovative and solution‑oriented mindset.
- Experience from working in the marine sector.
- Knowledge of rules, standards, regulations and safety protocols related to marine electrical equipment.
