BIM​/CAD Technician

Freese and Nichols is looking for BIM/CAD Technician to support transportation and/or water infrastructure projects. This position is open to our Harlingen, Texas office. As BIM/CAD Technician, you will assist with the creation and modification of BIM and CAD models and drawings under the supervision of senior technicians while continuing to develop your technical skills and familiarity with firm standards.

• Learn and apply Freese and Nichols BIM and CAD standards under the direction of project managers, designers, and lead BIM/CAD staff
• Prepare simple engineering and construction drawings
• Interpret sketches and markups and incorporate them into drawing sets
• Apply revisions from markups and backcheck work for accuracy
• Place, organize, and manage files according to BIM and CAD standards
• Prepare final drawings for review and delivery
• Perform other duties as assigned as part of project support and professional development

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Familiarity with CAD-related functions
• Working knowledge of BIM and CAD concepts
• Mathematical aptitude and a moderate level of 3D visualization
• Ability to follow instructions and work under close supervision

• Associate degree in BIM, CAD, or a related field
• Exposure to BIM or 3D modeling software
• Experience working in an engineering or technical design environment About Freese and Nichols
