About this Role

Fiber Tel is looking for a Walkout Engineer for our Albuquerque, NM location.

The Walkout
Engineer will be responsible for conducting site surveys, planning and mapping routes, documenting and reporting findings, and identifying potential issues. This position requires the ability to provide accurate and detailed plans to support the construction process.

Pay: $21-28/hr, DOE

What You'll Do Position Responsibilities
  • Ability to work with a team as well as individually
  • Perform physical inspections of proposed construction routes
  • Documenting existing conditions for both underground utilities and aerial infrastructure
  • Use tools like GPS and GIS to mark the most economical and viable routes for new telecom infrastructure
  • Communicate with property owners, municipalities, and utility companies
  • Provide accurate and detailed plans
  • Coordinate with field supervisors and project administrators
  • Review drawings to ensure compliance
  • Assist in developing survey maps and layouts when necessary
  • Inform engineers on job progress and updates
  • Assist the Engineering department
What You'll Bring Position Qualifications
  • 3+ years of experience in telecom/engineering
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • Ability to create clean and organized work
  • Great organization skills and high attention to detail
  • Handle stressful situations and deadlines
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Knowledge of telecommunications networks, equipment, and unit types
  • Knowledge of Excel, Microsoft Office, Word
  • Associates degree or equivalent college credits (Preferred)
Working Conditions

This job operates in both office and field environments with occasional exposure to noise and other hazards. This job routinely uses standard office equipment. Occasionally spend time outside the office when meeting clients or need to check on vehicles.

Physical Requirements

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and talk or hear; climb stairs and/or ladders. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
