We are looking for a highly talented structural engineering lead (PE required) with 6-14 years of structural engineering experience for our Sacramento office. This full-time position is available to qualified applicants who excel in a dynamic working environment and are self-motivated. This position would entail leading a team of entry level engineers and coordinating closely with department leadership on strategic vision. The ideal candidate excels in coordination with other disciplines, possess strong design technical skills, and has the ability to manage their own work efforts along with those of their discipline team.
Mackenzie’s California office is expanding and operating in Sacramento. We are looking for a highly talented
Structural Project Engineer II with experience across many project types such as Industrial, Retail, Advanced Technology, and Commercial/Workplace sectors.
The ideal candidate excels in technical coordination, possess strong design and production skills, and has inherent abilities to manage their own work efforts along with the project discipline team, and consultants.
Mackenzie is especially interested in candidates with strong professional connections and experience in the Sacramento area or have a strong ability to integrate themselves into the design and construction community of the region.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead and develop structural projects from conceptual planning through design documents and construction.
- Collaborate with Architects, Interior Designers, Civil Engineers, Landscape Architects, and MEP consultant teams on projects.
- Perform structural gravity and lateral calculations on a wide variety of projects.
- Plan, organize, coordinate, and lead the structural design team.
- Collaborate with Structural Department leadership located in other offices on planning and implementing strategic growth
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering
- 6 to 10 years of structural experience with relevant project types.
- A Professional Engineering (PE) license
- A professional Structural Engineering (SE) license is preferred
- Working knowledge of codes (ASCE 7, ASCE 41, ACI, AISC, etc.)
- Ability to coordinate and assemble entire set of construction documents on small to medium projects.
- Ability to work independently on projects through design development, construction documents, and construction contract administration phases.
- Candidates with experience with steel and interested in working on projects focused on manufacturing and semiconductor projects is a plus.
- Experience with creating and maintaining project specifications.
- Previous management of a team is a plus but not required.
- Open to new ideas and challenges
Salary Range : $95,000 to $120,000
