System Engineer

Job Description

As a System and Application Engineer in the IPS team, you will play a key role in enabling successful design‑ins of Renesas products. You will develop reference designs, support customers, and collaborate with cross‑functional teams to deliver high‑quality solutions.

• Design, simulate, optimize, and validate inductive position sensor modules.
• Provide technical support to customers from concept and debugging to prototype.
• Perform measurements and tests using lab equipment and test benches.
• Create PCB layouts for sensor demonstrators (experience in Altium is mandatory).
• Prepare technical documentation (application notes, design guides).
• Develop and maintain software tools for demonstrators and production programmers.
• Support simulation of inductive sensor elements using an in‑house tool.
• Work closely with Product Management and Marketing.
• Participate in customer meetings and occasional business trips.
• Contribute to new feature development and continuous improvement.

• Bachelor’s with up to 2 years of experience or a recent Master’s degree with 0 experience in Electronics, Electromechanics, or related field.
• Proficiency in PCB design and layout;
  Altium experience is mandatory.
• Comfortable in using electronic lab equipment (oscilloscopes, function generators).
• Experienced in soldering (SMT and THT).
• Programming skills in C/C++, Python, LabVIEW.
• 3D design experience is an advantage (Solid Works).
• Strong communication skills and ability to work in a global team.
• Proficiency in English (spoken and written).

• Experience in automotive or industrial sensor applications.
• Understanding of functional safety requirements.
• Agile mindset and proactive information sharing.
