In this position, you will oversee the inspection of materials and workmanship for construction improvement projects within Engineering District 9, which include pavement reconstruction, bridge structures, and select interchanges. Your role will ensure that all activities align with the approved construction plans, standards, specifications, and contract documents. You will apply sound engineering principles while managing moderately complex construction projects or phases of more intricate projects, utilizing your engineering judgment to analyze, advise, and supervise each assignment from start to finish in a professional, timely, cost-effective, and safe manner.
Additionally, you will serve as the Inspector-in-Charge (IIC) for highway construction projects, which encompass roadway pavement reconstruction, guiderail installation, flood control measures, and the rehabilitation and replacement of bridges.

Work Schedule and Additional Information- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- You will work closely with vendors and work hours may change based on vendor availability.
- Telework:
You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, Monday, Thursday and Friday. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Blair. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time.

- Successful completion of the Civil Engineer Trainee training program (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
- Four years of civil engineering experience in the appropriate specialty, and an engineer-in-training certificate issued by or acceptable to the Pennsylvania State Registration Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors and Geologists, and an associate’s degree in civil engineering technology or a closely related engineering discipline; or
- Five years of civil engineering experience in the appropriate specialty, and an Engineer-in-Training certificate issued by or acceptable to the Pennsylvania State Registration Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors and Geologists; or
