DESCRIPTIONOF WORK
In this position, you will perform a wide variety of electrical engineering duties in support of statewide corrections institutions. By using your expertise in electrical engineering principles and methods, you will develop solutions to operation, maintenance, design, or construction problems. Your duties will include reviewing and preparing all types of electrical engineering designs, as well as creating design drawings and specifications as required for construction projects.
You can expect to conduct site surveys of construction projects, attend design review meetings and conferences, coordinate design efforts with all interested parties, and provide recommendations regarding equipment. Additionally, you will advocate for the department and facility during conferences and site inspections.

Work Schedule and Additional Information- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- Telework:
You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to 3 days per week after the initial 6-month training period. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Mechanicsburg.

- Two years as an Electrical Engineer 2 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
- Four years of professional electrical engineering experience which required work on any structural electrical system.
- You must possess a Professional Engineer license issued by the Pennsylvania State Registration Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors and Geologists.
- This position requires possession of a valid driver’s license.
- PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
- You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
