Mechanical Process Engineer (Contract-to-Hire)
Location: Boise, (Hybrid / Primarily Remote)

Position OverviewWe are seeking a Mechanical Process Engineer to serve as an Owner's Representative supporting advanced manufacturing facilities projects in Boise, this role, you will act on behalf of the client to review and comment on engineering designs, specifications, and construction documents for complex mechanical and process systems.
This position offers the opportunity to work in a fast‑paced, technically challenging environment supporting the installation and integration of sophisticated manufacturing tools and facility infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities- Act as the mechanical/process engineering Owner's Representative, interfacing directly with client and site personnel.
- Review and provide technical feedback on engineering designs, specifications, drawings, and construction documents.
- Support the development and execution of mechanical and process system designs for advanced manufacturing facilities.
- Perform technical oversight for piping systems supporting equipment water, wastewater, process chemicals, and gases.
- Review P&IDs, layout drawings, equipment plans, and detailed design packages.
- Evaluate vendor submittals, RFIs, and construction documentation to ensure compliance with client standards and project requirements.
- Assist with retrofit designs of existing building systems, including engineering calculations, equipment sizing, selection, and specification.
- Support construction activities and system integration into active manufacturing environments.
- Collaborate closely with multi‑disciplinary design and construction teams to drive projects through design review and approval processes.
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering from an ABET‑accredited university.
- Minimum 2 years of hands‑on experience in chemical or mechanical facilities engineering.
- Experience with systems such as:
- Ultrapure water
- Chemical distribution
- Gas distribution
- Process piping
- Exhaust systems
- Plumbing and waste drainage
- Pumps and tank storage/design
- At least 2 years of experience supporting design project delivery processes.
- Strong ability to collaborate effectively within multi‑disciplinary teams.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage competing deadlines.
- Experience supporting semiconductor or advanced manufacturing environments, including cleanroom tools and installations.
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD.
- Field experience supporting construction or system installation activities.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- EIT or PE license (or actively pursuing).
- Forward‑thinking mindset with a desire to learn, improve processes, and contribute innovative ideas.
- Passion for engineering, buildings, and construction environments.
- Primarily remote position.
- Onsite requirement:
- Approximately 50% onsite during the first month.
- Reduced to one week onsite per month thereafter.
