We seek a professional, knowledgeable Engineering Project Managerfor aregular, full-time position. The essential responsibilities fortheEngineering Project Manager may include, but are not limited to, the following:
Management of consultants and technical professionals.
Implements and assists in the development and delivery of the Port’s capital projects.
Coordinates major aspects of project management on a day-to-day basis, including contract compliance, schedule compliance, quality assurance and quality control, preparation of periodic reports and the preparation of cost estimates and project budget reports.
Develops, or provides direction and coordination of the development of construction design plans and specifications for complex engineering projects typical to the Port industry. Certifies with Professional Engineer’s seal and signature that engineering designs conform with accepted professional engineering standards and practices and the requirements of law.
Inspects Port marine and industrial facilities and recommends repairs, upgrades, and/or replacements.
Reviews design plans and specifications for conformance to project requirements. Prepares, develops and checks complex specialized contract provisions and design agreements. Conducts pre-bid and preconstruction conferences detailing principal construction features and agreements.
Prepares complex technical engineering and administrative reports and develops critical correspondence and comprehensive reports in support of engineering projects and decisions.
Prepares and oversees permitting processes for the implementation of capital projects and maintenance.
Provides analytical data on project trends in man hour performance and cost, materials and equipment cost and overall productivity.
Investigates, analyzes and resolves complex facility issues, concerns or trends.
Develops plans and programs for marketing, facilities, finance, and government relations departments on road, rail, facility planning, and funding and outreach strategies.
Assists with Port’s facilities management programs.
Actively supports the Port’s mission and vision and demonstrates values consistently.
Works effectively as a team player with all Port employees.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSEducation: Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited institution, bachelor’s degree in Architecture, or advanced degree in a related technical field.
Experience: Five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in project management or engineering required. Knowledge of local, state, and federal building, environmental and land-use planning regulations pertinent to the Port industry.
