The RoleWe're looking for a Product Engineer to join our Grand Forks team and play a key role in the design, development, and lifecycle management of ODRA road sweepers and components.
Work Arrangement: This is a hybrid position
. While some remote work is possible, you will be required to be on-site at the Grand Forks facility 1–2 days per week for hands-on collaboration, testing, and product validation.
- Lead product and component design projects from concept through production
- Develop and maintain CAD models, engineering drawings, and Bills of Materials (BOMs)
- Apply Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFMA) principles to optimize designs
- Participate in design reviews, feasibility studies, and cost evaluations
- Plan and execute test verification for new products and design changes
- Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for design-related issues
- Use FEA and other analytical tools to validate performance and structural integrity
- Work closely with manufacturing, quality, supply chain, and service teams to support product launches and ongoing improvements
- Support supplier sourcing and evaluation for components and materials
- Provide engineering support for production and field-related issues
- Identify opportunities for product improvement, cost reduction, and standardization
- Stay current with advances in materials, manufacturing processes, and mechanical design
- Contribute to patentable innovations and intellectual property documentation
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (required)
- 5+ years of experience in product design and development (heavy equipment or machinery experience strongly preferred)
- Professional Engineer (P.Eng) designation or eligibility is an asset
- Proficiency in Solid Works and/or AutoCAD; FEA experience preferred
- Strong understanding of DFMA and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems
- Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, hands-on environment
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 for documentation and reporting
