CUE EPCM Partners

Location:

San Antonio preferred. Candidates located within reach of Permian or the Eagle Ford basins will also be considered.

With several new client engagements underway, CUE EPCM Partners is looking to add a high calibre Intermediate Facilities Engineer with 3 to 8 years of experience in upstream oil and gas facility design.

We are a lean, operations focused EPCM group supporting upstream and midstream developments across Texas and other U.S. basins. Our work spans concept through IFC and into field execution, with a strong emphasis on cost efficiency, constructability, and long term asset performance.

Who You Are

You are technically strong, detail oriented, and comfortable taking ownership of projects. You communicate clearly with both engineers and field operations. Field exposure is a strong asset, but not mandatory.

You likely come from a small to mid sized EPCM firm and are ready for more responsibility, broader scope, and direct client interaction.

We value an entrepreneurial mindset and are looking for someone interested in building a long term career, not just filling a seat.

Role Overview

This role supports the growth and execution of CUE’s facility engineering projects by integrating process, mechanical, piping, electrical, instrumentation, structural, and drafting into complete engineering packages ready for construction.

You will work directly with clients and internal disciplines to develop practical, cost effective solutions for oil and gas facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Interpret project scope and develop:
    • Design Basis Memorandums
  • With senior engineer support, perform field reconnaissance and collaborate with Operations to define scope
  • Develop conceptual and detailed designs including:
    • Plot Plans
    • Process Flow Diagrams
    • Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams
  • Perform engineering calculations and equipment selection for:
    • Separation vessels
    • Heater treaters
    • Free water knockouts / separation
    • Dehydration systems
    • Pumps and Gas compression
    • Production tanks
    • Line heaters
    • Multi and single-phase pipelines
    • Condensate stabilization and sweetening systems
    • Control valves and PSV’s
  • Prepare equipment and valve data sheets and RFQs
  • Support bid package preparation, procurement processes and technical evaluation of vendor quotes
  • Coordinate with electrical, instrumentation, civil, structural, stress, and drafting disciplines
  • Review and revise engineering drawings and bills of material
  • Ensure compliance with applicable codes and client standards
  • Support regulatory submissions as required
  • Track committed and forecast costs against estimates
  • Participate in design reviews, P&, HAZOPs, and construction kickoffs
  • Provide client correspondence and routine project updates

When applicable, if licensed and within authority, P.E. stamping of completed drawing packages may be required, however not mandatory.

Qualifications
  • 3 to 8 years of experience in upstream oil and gas facility engineering
  • Experience with small to mid sized EPCM firms preferred
  • Degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering
  • Texas P.E. preferred; E.I.T. candidates on track for licensure are acceptable
  • Working knowledge of applicable codes such as:
    • ASME B31.3
    • ASME Section VIII
    • ASME B31.8
    • API 2000, 521, 12F
    • DOT 49 CFR 192 and 195
    • NACE MR0175 / ISO 15156
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational and project management skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast paced environment
Work Structure

CUE operates as a lean, largely remote based engineering team, however will likely have office space in San Antonio in the near term.

  • Field presence required as projects dictate
  • San Antonio preferred, but Midland and Eagle Ford proximity considered

We can structure this role as either:

  • W2 employment with long term growth potential
  • 1099 independent contractor arrangement for those who prefer flexibility

Compensation will align with capability, ownership, and performance.

Why CUE
  • Direct exposure to clients and operations teams
  • Broad technical scope across full facility systems
  • Lean team structure with real responsibility
  • Projects in the Permian, Eagle Ford, and other active basins
  • Opportunity to grow with a firm that is actively expanding
