The Power Architecture team designs and delivers low voltage (LV) power supply systems for Jaguar Land Rover vehicles. We have responsibility for the LV power supply system delivery on all JLR powertrain variants, from conventional internal combustion engine (ICE) to mild‑hybrid (MHEV), plug‑in‑hybrid (PHEV) and battery electric vehicles (BEV).

The Power Supply Functional Safety Engineer is responsible for the FuSa artefact design, verification and validation on the Onboard Power Supply System.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

• Design and develop Functional Safety artefacts for the Onboard Power Supply System
• Manage the safety requirements of internal stakeholders relevant for the Power Supply System
• Creation and documentation of the Functional Safety case
• Ensuring compliance with Regulations and Standards (internal and external)
• Delivering tasks and projects on time and on budget

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

• Electrical or electronics engineering degree (or equivalent)
• Technical knowledge and experience of LV and/or HV power supply systems design and/or validation
• Experience of system‑level and component‑level issue resolution and strong practical ability
• Ability to communicate complex technical concepts, data and conclusions within the team and to stakeholders
• Experience of failure mode avoidance (including DFMEA)
• Knowledge and experience of Functional Safety (ISO
  26262)
• Knowledge and experience of other systems (electric propulsion, ADAS, steering, braking etc)
• Certification on Functional Safety (ISO
  26262)
• Knowledge and understanding of systems engineering principles (including MBSE & SysML)
• Knowledge and experience of the product creation process
• Knowledge and experience of power system protection, load flow, harmonic and transient analysis
• Experience in power electronics HW and/or SW design
• Experience of structured problem solving (8D)
• Proficient in use of various CAN/LIN & Flex Ray tools such as CANalyzer and CANape
• Proficient in uses of LV & HV test equipment (oscilloscopes, multimeters, data loggers etc)
• Proficient in MATLAB/Simulink
