Job Title:
Controls Engineer
The Controls Engineer designs and develops PLC programs for material handling equipment. This position requires comprehensive knowledge of equipment, business, and customer requirements that drive the design of technical solutions. The engineer participates in all phases of the product development lifecycle, including analysis, design, electrical designs, installation support, electrical installation debugging, and supports other complementary engineering staff associated with electrical hardware engineering.
The Controls Engineer works independently to resolve site requirement changes and supports solutions to complete designed equipment installations.
- Program systems to support equipment in collaboration with internal engineering/project management and customers to determine system requirements.
- Support electrical installation by interfacing with electrical installers.
- Debug electrical installation of controls and motor components.
- Proficiency in PLC Programming.
- Experience with Allen-Bradley, Material Handling Equipment, Conveyors, and Automation.
- Knowledge of Studio 5000 and Rockwell RSLogix.
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology.
- 3+ years of experience in controls engineering.
- Experience programming PLCs, Studio 500, and Rockwell.
Skills & Qualifications
- Ability to travel 60-70% of the time.
This position is travel-intensive, requiring travel 60%-70% of the time. The typical schedule involves up to 10 days on the jobsite followed by 4 days off. Travel will be across the country to client sites. Candidates are compensated for travel time and are eligible for a daily per diem. The employer covers travel expenses.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Cincinnati, OH.
Pay And BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $30.00 - $50.00/hr.
