Overview
Rohde & Schwarz USA, Inc. (Columbia, MD) is seeking an Application Engineer. The role involves acting as the subject‑matter expert and leading technical consultant for wireless protocol testing to support customer R&D labs. The position permits remote work from anywhere in the U.S.
Qualifications & ExperienceThe candidate must have a minimum of 7 years of experience relevant to the role or any related occupation, including:
- 7 years of experience in Python and object‑oriented programming;
- 7 years working with mobile communications protocols, including 5G , LTE – Physical Layer, Layer 2, RRC, NAS;
- 7 years utilizing data‑centric protocols, including TCP/IP, SIP/SDP, RTP, RTCP;
- 7 years working with test equipment, including radio communications testers, spectrum analyzers and signal generators.
Travel of about 15% of the time is required, comprising domestic and international trips lasting 1–2 weeks each.
Education & TrainingEmployer will accept any suitable combination of education, training, and experience. Experience may be gained concurrently.
