Simulation Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking a Simulation Engineer to develop, maintain, and validate simulation models for aircraft aerodynamics, flight dynamics, and control systems. This role involves building MATLAB/Simulink models, implementing simulation logic using C++, and collaborating with engineering teams to ensure accurate and regulatory‑aligned simulations.

Responsibilities
  • Develop, maintain, and validate simulation models for aircraft aerodynamics, flight dynamics, and control systems.
  • Build and refine MATLAB/Simulink models to support model‑based design, analysis, and testing.
  • Implement simulation logic and performance models using C++ for integration with broader simulation frameworks.
  • Support simulation‑based evaluation of aircraft behavior across nominal and off‑nominal conditions.
  • Collaborate with systems, controls, and flight test engineers to correlate simulation results with real‑world flight data.
  • Contribute to certification‑oriented simulation efforts, including environments aligned with FAA Part 60 where applicable.
  • Support verification, validation, and documentation of simulation models to ensure accuracy and regulatory alignment.
Essential Skills
  • Understanding of aircraft aerodynamics, flight dynamics, and control systems.
  • Hands‑on experience developing models using MATLAB/Simulink.
  • Professional experience with C++.
  • Experience working with or supporting flight test data, including model correlation or validation.
  • Experience working collaboratively across simulation, systems, and controls engineering teams.
Additional

Skills & Qualifications
  • Master's or PhD in engineering or related field.
  • Experience with FAA Part 60 simulation environments or certification‑related simulation efforts.
  • Experience supporting autonomous, optionally piloted, or advanced aircraft systems.
  • Familiarity with verification and validation of simulation models in regulated aerospace environments.
  • Experience integrating Simulink models into larger software or simulation frameworks.
  • Exposure to hardware‑in‑the‑loop (HIL), software‑in‑the‑loop (SIL), or model‑in‑the‑loop (MIL) environments.
