You will conduct field inspections of permitted projects to ensure compliance with both the permit specifications and Department regulations, overseeing various stages of construction work.

Your responsibilities will also involve assisting in the verification of grades, elevations, and the layout of structures and roadways in collaboration with contractors and surveyors. Additionally, you will inspect the installation of materials such as cement concrete, bituminous concrete, and drainage systems, as well as monitor work zone traffic control, backfill materials, compaction requirements, and highway restoration efforts, all while prioritizing public safety.

Furthermore, you will perform compaction testing using visual non-movement methods on sub-surface strata, soils, and aggregates.
