Position SummaryRSI is seeking a highly experienced Senior Advisor to provide strategic and technical leadership in support of the CERCLA process at the Materials Evaluation Laboratory (MEL) located at the Bettis Laboratory. The Senior Advisor will serve as a subject matter expert on historical laboratory operations, radiological facility management, remediation strategy, and stakeholder coordination.
Employment is contingent upon award of a task order, with anticipated award in March 2026.
Primary Responsibilities- Providing strategic advisory support related to the history, current condition, and future planning of the Materials Evaluation Laboratory (MEL)
- Advising on the operation, maintenance, and remediation of large-scale testing laboratories
- Offering expert guidance on radiological controls, hazardous material handling, and compliance with applicable federal regulations
- Integrating multiple stakeholders, including federal clients and laboratory personnel
- Reviewing technical plans, risk assessments, and historical data
Education and Experience
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Physical Sciences, or a related technical discipline
- 30+ years of progressively responsible experience in nuclear, radiological, or highly regulated laboratory environments
- Extensive knowledge of the history and current state of the Materials Evaluation Laboratory (MEL) at the Bettis Laboratory
- Extensive knowledge of large testing laboratory operations and remediation
- Deep understanding of radiological controls and hazardous materials management
- High-level understanding of maintenance and testing requirements for inactive radiological facilities
- Demonstrated ability to integrate and align diverse stakeholders in complex federal environments
- Proven experience advising executive leadership on high-risk, technically complex programs
- Strong knowledge of federal regulatory frameworks applicable to radiological and nuclear facilities
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to provide strategic insight while remaining hands-on and solution-oriented
- Strong analytical and risk assessment capabilities
