The Role- End to end project management for various projects involving the maintenance and repair of OSP fiber facilities.
- Oversee the repair process from temporary to permanent completion and ensure that the repairs meet the quality, budget, and timelines expected.
- Build relationships, manage, and supervise engineering vendors, construction contractors, various trade workers, and project managers.
- Effective workload balancing among resources to maintain schedules.
- Effectively manage the quality and completion of work by all vendors through inspecting, identifying, and correcting any issues.
- Field interface for all repair engineering or construction.
- Report on the progress of all repair projects and update key stakeholders and applicable systems.
- Creating MOPs for all maintenance activities on the fiber network.
- Act as an escalation point for less tenured team members
- Multi-discipline expertise and responsibility for isolating and restoring complex network impairments.
- Must have the ability to work after normal business hours and/or perform shift work as needed to perform needs of the business.
This is a work from home position within the U.S.
The Main Responsibilities- Repair and maintain the network according to Lumen's objectives, standards, and specifications.
- Apply in-depth knowledge of the network and networking protocols along with excellent communication skills to perform in-depth troubleshooting.
- Supports the Outside Plant (OSP) fiber network by performing on-call duties, network troubleshooting, maintenance, repairs and analyzes complex network issues to provide short-term and/or long-term resolution plans.
- Manage and review the creation and receipt of engineering drawings, plans, specifications, contracts, and permits.
- Coordinate and communicate with internal and external parties including customers, vendors, contractors, regulators, and utility companies.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable codes, regulations, policies, and procedures for the network projects.
- Be able to perform network audit activities, be able to read As-builts and maintain the 3
GIS database ensuring records are accurate at all times to maintain the integrity of our network.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education with 2-3 years of relevant experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in telecommunication network engineering, construction, maintenance, and repair environments.
- Possesses project management and coordination skills, as well as strong technical, analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
- Knowledgeable and able to work in appropriate systems, such as CAD, GIS, and Microsoft Office.
- Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
- Ability to build relationships with cross functional partner departments, vendors, and developers.
- Fluent on current approved products and technology.
This information reflects the anticipated base salary range for this position based on current national data. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual pay is based on skills, experience and other relevant factors.
Location Based Pay Ranges- $64,668 - $86,190 in these states: AL AR AZ FL GA IA KS KY LA ME MO MS MT ND NE NM OH OK PA SC SD TN UT VT WI WV WY
- $67,875 - $90,500 in these states: CO HI MI MN NC NH NV OR RI
- $71,108 - $94,809 in these states: AK CA CT DC DE IL MA MD NJ NY TX VA WA
