SHINE Technologies is seeking a Nuclear Analysis Manager who will be responsible for the nuclear analysis of all SHINE systems, including nuclear/thermal-hydraulic design of the subcritical assembly, transient nuclear behavior, and shielding analyses. The Nuclear Analysis Manager will support the licensing of the facility by the NRC, ensure the safety of the design, and own the software used for safety‑related design, including MCNP.

Hybrid or remote work arrangement will be considered. Our headquarters is located in Janesville, Wisconsin, but we welcome applicants from across the U.S. who can effectively collaborate in a virtual environment. Candidates may be asked to travel occasionally for team meetings or onsite engagements, depending on business needs.

The base salary range for this position is $90,000 - $110,000 per year plus a comprehensive compensation package. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location.

Duties And Responsibilities
  • Develop, evaluate, and lead nuclear analysis engineers who perform nuclear analysis of SHINE systems.
  • Drive the culture of the Nuclear Analysis team to provide high‑quality work efficiently in alignment with the SHINE core values.
  • Manage the budget, finances, resources, and schedule of the nuclear analysis team.
  • Determine missing scope from the schedule and update to support SHINE technology and licensing basis.
  • Become qualified to review and approve nuclear analysis calculations.
  • Ownership of the radiation shielding program and material confinement program for the SHINE site.
  • Ownership of the Linux cluster computers.
  • Ownership of the nuclear analysis software including MCNP, SCALE, and internally designed software within the software quality assurance program.
  • Ownership of engineering support tools.
  • Support the Nuclear Analysis parts of the licensing basis.
  • Work with the safety analysis team to support the planned analyses in the schedule and prioritize their work.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in nuclear engineering or a similar field.
  • Management experience with an engineering team (5+ years preferred).
  • Experience developing engineers into next‑level performers and motivating them to perform at their highest level.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects/activities, prioritizing them in a way that contributes most to company success.
  • Ability to quickly identify problems, gather relevant information, and make decisive decisions while considering the effects on other areas of facility design or operation.
  • Outstanding communication, conflict management, and change management skills.
  • Technical knowledge of nuclear physics fundamentals and principles.
  • Understanding of design control and corrective action programs.
  • Experience with software maintenance and software quality assurance preferred.
  • Experience with nuclear design codes such as MCNP, SCALE, or equivalents and theory behind the codes preferred.

Eligibility for employment is conditioned on the applicant’s ability to qualify for access to information subject to U.S. Export Controls. Additionally, applicant’s eligibility may be conditioned upon meeting the Nuclear Regulatory Commission requirements for access to Safeguards Information, which typically requires a pre‑employment drug screen, fingerprinting, and a criminal background check.
