This role is part of the Emerging Systems Business Unit, which will shape the future of our in-space infrastructure capabilities.

The role is part of the In-Space Systems business unit, which is focused on addressing two of the most compelling challenges in spaceflight today: space infrastructure and increasing mobility on-orbit.

* Travel may be required up to 15% of the time to Blue Origin facilities and partner locations
** Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
*** Architect and implement network orchestration solutions to create a routing framework for satellite networks
* Create and maintain network models to predict performance and identify optimization opportunities
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate network capabilities into broader systems and applications
* Analyze network performance and troubleshoot complex issues across distributed systems
* Implement security best practices and protocols to protect network infrastructure
* Evaluate and recommend new networking technologies and solutions to enhance network capabilities and performance
* Understand the implications of network planning on spacecraft operations and design accordingly
* Lead technical discussions and provide expert guidance on networking solutions

* Minimum Qualifications:

*** Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Network Engineering, or related technical field
* 7+ years of experience in network architecture, design, or engineering
* Strong understanding of networking and network protocols including OSPF, RIP, BGP, MPLS, SRv6, L2 VPNs, and L3 VPNs
* Experience with architecting, designing, or developing software-defined networking solutions
* Experience with network modeling and simulation tools
* Proficiency in developing and maintaining network architecture diagrams and technical documentation

* Preferred Qualifications:

*** Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field
* 10+ years of experience in network architecture with focus on routing
* Experience with networking for constrained links such as 3

GPP and satellite networks
* Knowledge of spacecraft operations and constraints as they relate to communications systems
* Familiarity with network function virtualization and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
* Background in aerospace or defense industries
* Certifications such as CCIE, JNCIE, or equivalent advanced networking certifications
* Knowledge of emerging space-based networking standards and technologies### Compensation Range for:
