Job Description Summary
Responsible for providing subject matter expertise, support, and development of Core Monitoring Software by closely collaborating with the product management and development teams. Responsible for supporting new and existing customers utilizing Reactor Engineering and Core Monitoring experience. You will direct the team with a clear and descriptive set of requirements and partner with the team to determine what can be delivered through balancing the need for new features, defects, and technical debt.
Your priority is seamless integration and alignment of perspectives from a broad set of stakeholders including Customers, Product Managers, Technical Anchors, Product Owners and Developers.
Provide Core Monitoring System support to operating Nuclear Power Plants using GE Core Monitoring Systems. This may include periodic on-call support for customer generation facility activities.
Demonstrate superior product and industry knowledge to help organization to gain the competitive edge.
Provide subject matter expertise for Core Monitoring System feature planning, development, testing, and deployment.
Interact with customers/stakeholders in VOC requirements-gathering, fine tuning, and obtaining product feedback.
Work with cross-functional teams to deliver features, upgrades and major projects including infrastructure upgrades and virtualization.
Possesses a deep understanding of the technology stack and impact on final product.
Routinely collaborates with UX, Architecture and engineering teams on multiple issues and decisions.
Conduct customer and stakeholder interviews and elaborates on personas.
Demonstrate expert persuasion and influencing skills that ensure alignment between customer, product manager and engineering teams.
Demonstrate strategic expert level skills in problem decomposition and ability to navigate through ambiguity.
Engages frequently (50% of the time) with the development team; facilitates discussions, provides clarification, story acceptance and refinement, testing and validation; contributes to design activities and decisions.
Partners with Development Leadership to ensure healthy development process.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Bachelor's Degree in Nuclear Engineering, Computer Science, or related STEM field.
Minimum 5 years of Nuclear Operations, Reactor Engineering, and/or Core Monitoring Software experience.
The preferred work location for this role is at the GEH Headquarters in Wilmington, NC; but highly qualified (US based) remote candidates will be considered.
This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information. If applicable, final offers will be contingent on ability to obtain authorization for access to U.S. export-controlled information from the U.S. Government.
