Engineering Team Lead

Role Location

Fully remote – must be based in Netherlands

A purpose-driven, international non-profit organisation using data and technology to create meaningful social impact rating across multiple regions, the organisation partners closely with local systems and communities to support long-term, sustainable outcomes.

As Data Engineering Team Lead, you will be responsible for leading and evolving the organisation’s data platform while managing and mentoring a growing data engineering team. You will work closely with analytics, product, and engineering stakeholders to ensure high-quality, reliable, and accessible data across the business.

• Leading the design, delivery, and evolution of data platforms, pipelines, and models
• Ensuring data quality, reliability, performance, and scalability
• Planning and prioritising data initiatives aligned with business and product goals
• Providing technical leadership, architectural guidance, and code/design reviews
• Coaching and supporting data engineers, fostering strong engineering standards

• 8+ years’ experience working with complex data systems
• 3+ years’ experience leading or managing data engineering teams (including 1-1s, reviews, salary reviews, technical direction).
• Strong software engineering background (Python, Java, or Scala)
• Advanced SQL skills and experience with relational databases
• Strong understanding of data modelling, ETL processes, and data warehousing
• Experience working with large-scale data platforms
