Senior Network Engineer

The Sr. Network Engineer ensures smooth operation of Terumo BCT's data network, providing maximum performance and availability for users. Responsibilities include designing, installing, maintaining, and supporting LAN, WAN, Cloud, and VoIP infrastructures at all global locations. The role offers high‑level technical support for voice and data networks, documentation maintenance, standard enforcement, and project upgrades. Proficiency in advanced router and switch engineering, network security, and management systems is essential, as are excellent problem‑management and customer‑service skills.

• Provide strategic network and telecommunications recommendations to management.
• Ensure problem identification, isolation, and resolution for routers, switches, SD‑WAN appliances, load balancers, firewalls, VPN, wireless, and related equipment at all sites.
• Design and implement telecommunication services for new or upgraded offices in accordance with Terumo BCT standards.
• Investigate network/telecom issues within LAN, WAN, cloud, and telecom infrastructure, including root‑cause analysis.
• Support and train end users, ITS technical groups, and implementation teams.
• Direct teams in configuration and maintenance of network and telecom equipment using Terumo BCT or industry standards.
• Supervise vendor activities to meet service‑level agreements.
• Create and maintain technical and training documentation.
• Monitor and report on network and telecom performance statistics.
• Analyze and research new technologies and solutions.
• Leverage professional knowledge when working with clients, ITS groups, and vendors on selection, design, installation, coding, maintenance, and testing of IT solutions.
• Deliver proactive, high‑quality client service.
• Participate in shared on‑call duties for the global network, sites, and services.
• Hybrid office work environment with local remote work options available.

• Education
  :
  Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent education and experience sufficient for essential functions.
• Experience
  :
  Minimum 10 years total; at least 7 years working with Cisco/Meraki routers and switches, wireless, SD‑WAN, firewalls, and load balancers.
• Skills
  :
  • Proven experience leading, mentoring, and developing a diverse technical team.
  • In‑depth knowledge of local, wide‑area, and cloud network concepts, designs, and implementations.
  • Expertise in firewalls, including design, implementation, secure maintenance, and global operation.
  • In‑depth knowledge of ZTNA and SASE concepts and implementations, including SD‑WAN, SSE, network segmentation, VPN, and cloud practices.
  • Deep knowledge of routing/switching protocols: static, OSPF, BGP.
  • Knowledge of VOIP and QoS.
  • Strong troubleshooting and issue resolution skills.
  • Expertise in wireless networking solutions and standards: IEEE 802.11 g/n/ac/ax, authorization, authentication.
  • Network performance monitoring and improvement skills.
  • Integrated technical solutions for data communications requirements.
  • Network security understanding and risk mitigation.
  • Research and recommendation skills in a changing environment.
  • Business/technical problem analysis and solution design.
