WhatYou Will Do
As a Control Panel Design Engineer you will design and develop electrical control panels for industrial automation systems, ensuring compliance with industry, customer, and internal quality requirements.
Key Responsibilities- Design electrical control panels, including power distribution, DCS/PLC/SCADA, HMIs, motor control, and safety systems.
- Plan DIN rail, terminal block, and assembly for logical signal flow and clean wiring.
- Create detailed electrical schematics, panel layout drawings, and wiring diagrams using CAD software.
- Evaluate installation environments (indoor, outdoor, washdown, hazardous) to ensure proper panel protection.
- Design and specify custom sheet metal enclosures and back panels.
- Plan and oversee application‑specific HVAC systems.
- Design enclosure layouts and cooling solutions to manage heat dissipation for solid‑state devices.
- Route power and control wiring to minimize interference and maintain code compliance.
- Select appropriate components (relays, circuit breakers, terminal blocks, etc.) based on application and standards.
- Collaborate with software developers, platform, and manufacturing teams to ensure accurate and timely delivery.
- Generate bills of materials (BOMs) and documentation packages for production and customers.
- Ensure designs comply with relevant codes and standards (UL508A, NEC, CE, IEC, etc.).
- Support panel fabrication, testing, and troubleshooting during production and commissioning.
- Associate/Bachelor/Master’s degree in Mechatronics, CAD/CAM, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering.
- 5+ years of experience in electrical/control panel design.
- Proficiency with CAD tools (Autodesk Inventor, CREO, Pro‑panel).
- Experience with ERP systems for BOM management.
- Knowledge of PLM, PDM, ERP: CAD file management, document control, BOM management & engineering change management.
This is an onsite position in Greenville, SC. Remote work may be considered after an interview if necessary.
- You must have reliable transportation to commute to and from the workplace.
- The job requires a shop floor environment, including extensive walking and lifting up to 40 lbs.
$80,000/yr – $100,000/yr, based on experience, skills, and education. Competitive wages and a comprehensive benefits package are offered, including health insurance, paid time off, and retirement plans.
