About UsThis firm is a leading MEP consulting engineering firm providing innovative, efficient, and sustainable design solutions for commercial, residential, institutional, and infrastructure projects. We are seeking a motivated Electrical Engineer to join the growing team in New York City.
Job SummaryThe Electrical Engineer will be responsible for the design, coordination, and documentation of electrical systems for a variety of building projects. The ideal candidate will work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality engineering solutions from concept through construction.
Key Responsibilities- Design electrical power distribution systems, lighting systems, and low-voltage systems
- Prepare electrical drawings, specifications, and calculations
- Perform load calculations, short circuit, and coordination studies
- Coordinate with architects, mechanical engineers, and other project stakeholders
- Review shop drawings and respond to RFIs
- Conduct site visits and support construction administration
- Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and client requirements
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
- 3+ years of relevant experience in MEP consulting or building systems design
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit
- Knowledge of NEC, NYC Electrical Code, and industry standards
- Strong communication and organizational skills
Preferred:
- EIT certification
- PE license is a plus or on track
- Experience with power system analysis software (SKM, ETAP, or similar)
- Experience with commercial, residential, or institutional projects
