Job Title: Assistant Project Manager – Substation Projects

Location: Raleigh, North Carolina

Job Overview

In this role, you will support day-to-day project execution to ensure schedules, budgets, and customer commitments remain on track. You will assist with core project management functions including planning, forecasting, risk and change management, and leadership reporting, while maintaining financial ownership for assigned project scopes.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to align resources, manage costs, capture lessons learned, and help reduce nonconformance costs. The role also involves building technical familiarity with GIS, AIS, and switch gear products to support informed decision-making and successful project delivery within substation-related projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Support and help lead project execution activities to ensure delivery against established schedules, customer expectations, and financial objectives.
• Contribute to project management functions including schedule development, budgeting, risk assessment, forecasting, and leadership reporting.
• Support change and opportunity management throughout the project lifecycle.
• Maintain profit and loss (P&L) accountability for assigned project scopes and deliverables.
• Capture and document project-specific lessons learned and support initiatives to reduce nonconformance costs (NCCs).
• Partner with cross-functional teams to define project outcomes, allocate resources, and manage project schedules and budgets.
• Continuously build technical knowledge related to GIS, AIS, and general switch gear product portfolios.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Business required (Master’s degree preferred).
• Minimum of 2 years of project management experience, ideally supporting substation or power infrastructure projects.
• Strong communication, leadership, collaboration, and customer-facing skills.
• Ability and willingness to travel up to 30% domestically, with occasional international travel.
• Ability to relocate to Raleigh, NC if not currently local (relocation assistance available).
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future employer-sponsored work authorization.

Preferred Experience

• Experience with process improvement and quality management initiatives.
• Experience collaborating with global or cross-regional teams.
• Foundational knowledge of GIS/AIS, Balance of Plant (BoP), and switch gear products.
