OH Transmission Line Engineer Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Transmission Line Engineer to join our team. The role focuses on overhead design and structural engineering, encompassing everything from initial surveying and assessment to planning, permitting, research, and comprehensive design and engineering. You will be responsible for planning, scheduling, conducting, and coordinating detailed phases of projects independently, while collaborating with other engineering disciplines and project management staff.
This position offers the opportunity to provide expert consultation in your field, mentor junior staff, and engage in technical development of proposals and presentations.
- Utilize advanced judgment and analysis techniques for design development, implementation, and technical analysis of systems.
- Plan, schedule, conduct, and coordinate detailed phases of a project independently.
- Recommend alterations to development and design to improve quality of products and procedures.
- Select proper procedures to self-check work for completeness and accuracy in technical reports and calculations.
- Resolve highly complex technical issues and continuously monitor project progress and performance.
- Recognize technical discrepancies in analytical results and make appropriate corrections.
- Provide guidance, mentorship, and technical review of work completed by junior staff.
- Engage in technical development of proposals and external presentations to clients and regulatory agencies.
- Bachelor’s degree in Structural, Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering required.
- Minimum of 3 years of progressive OH Transmission Line Design Experience experience.
- Production Design Engineers - PLS Cadd.
- Overhead Structural and Line Design experience.
- Advanced proficiency with engineering, computational, and modeling software (Revit, AutoCAD, Micro Station, etc.).
- Understanding of QA/QC procedures and basic business practices related to engineering.
- Effective leadership skills and ability to work in a collaborative environment.
- Proficiency with MS Office software.
- Proficiency in additional engineering, computational, and modeling software (Blue Beam, FAD, LPile, etc.) preferred.
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Raleigh, NC.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $55.00 - $65.00/hr.
