Sales Engineer, Systems Engineer
Overview
We are seeking a relationship-focused Application Sales Engineer for Scot & Wilo Applications who will provide specialized technical and application support for Scot Pump and Wilo USA-branded products. This role partners closely with sales, customers, and internal stakeholders to deliver engineered pumping solutions, support long-cycle projects, and ensure accurate application guidance for complex and customized systems.
PrimaryJob Duties
- Provide advanced application and technical support for Scot and Wilo pump products, including custom and engineered solutions
- Support Regional Sales Managers, OEM customers, and Independent Sales Representatives throughout the sales and project lifecycle
- Review and interpret customer specifications, performance requirements, and engineering documentation
- Perform pump selections, system calculations, and technical evaluations to ensure compliant and optimized solutions
- Prepare technical documentation, pricing inputs, and proposal support for bids, tenders, and RFPs
- Serve as a subject-matter resource for Scot and Wilo product applications, including controls and system integration, where applicable
- Coordinate cross-functionally with engineering, operations, quality, and service teams to address application challenges and customer issues
- Support factory coordination, project execution, and resolution of technical inquiries
- Monitor customer feedback and field performance to inform continuous improvement efforts
- Maintain deep familiarity with product capabilities, configurations, and competitive alternatives
- Support new product introductions, design changes, and application training initiatives

Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical discipline preferred
- Several years of experience in application engineering, technical sales, or engineered-to-order product environments
- Strong understanding of pump systems, hydraulics, and engineered equipment applications
- Ability to read, interpret, and explain complex engineering drawings, specifications, and schematics
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and documentation skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interface with engineers, customers, and sales professionals
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Self-motivated with a strong sense of accountability and customer advocacy
