Remote - Director of Engineering

The Director of Engineering will lead a team of software engineers delivering high-quality web and mobile applications. This leader will oversee execution across one Agile team, drive technical delivery, partner closely with Product, and ensure scalable, consistent engineering practices in an Azure-based environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of onshore/offshore application engineers; diagnose bottlenecks and remove delivery obstacles.

• Oversee end-to-end software delivery across web and mobile applications built with Python, Django, React, and Azure services.

• Collaborate with Product Owners to define requirements, shape product direction, and provide high-level engineering estimates.

• Ensure strong Agile execution, engineering best practices, and high-quality release cycles.

• Maintain and enforce technical documentation standards and contribute to continuous improvement practices.

• Identify and resolve complex development challenges across backend, frontend, and cloud components.
Stay current with emerging technologies and drive modern engineering approaches across the team.

Required Skills & Experience

Technical background as an application engineer; progressed from hands-on engineering into leadership.
5+ years of managing engineering teams at a Senior Manager or Director level.
Experience leading offshore engineering resources and cross-functional Agile teams.
Strong expertise in application development.
Demonstrated ability to lead software delivery in Python/Django and modern frontend tech in React
Strong communication skills with the ability to work cross-functionally across engineering and product.
Cloud experience with Azure.
