PGS Worldwide is seeking a Supplier Quality Engineer in Grand Prairie, TX for a one year contract-to-hire role supporting a leading aerospace & defense company. This hybrid role leads supplier quality activities to ensure contract and purchase order requirements are met, including supplier audits, source inspections, nonconformance control, and corrective action effectiveness. You will translate engineering, manufacturing, and quality requirements into supplier-ready standards and collaborate with internal teams and external suppliers to maintain AS9100-aligned quality systems.
Required Skills
Bachelor’s degree or higher in a STEM field (Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering) OR equivalent experience/combined education
Quality engineering experience developing and reviewing quality requirements, standards, procedures, methods, work instructions, and control plans
Experience performing D/PFMEA
Understanding of procedure compliance assessment, process audit, and product audit techniques
Ability to interpret drawings, specifications, and industry standards
Understanding of inspection methods for electronic circuit cards and electro-mechanical assemblies
Experience controlling and disposing of nonconforming product (MRB)
Experience leading cross-functional root cause, corrective action, and preventive action using tools such as 8D, 5-Why, Fault Tree, PFD, FMEA, Standard Work, and Control Plans
Demonstrated understanding of AS9100 Quality Management Systems
Experience performing First Article Inspections to AS9102 requirements
Experience with supplier quality assurance/control
Experience working with U.S. Department of Defense customers
Strong project management skills with ability to multi-task and meet deadlines
Effective interpersonal and communication skills across hybrid (remote/in office) environments
Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, Project, and Visio
Knowledge of special processes and ability to interface with suppliers daily to support program needs
What You’ll Do
Plan, organize, direct, and report on supplier quality activities across raw materials, packaging materials, service providers, contract manufacturers, and laboratories
Monitor and control supplier nonconforming items and verify corrective action effectiveness
Develop, modify, and maintain quality evaluation and control systems and protocols
Perform source surveillance/validation, source inspections, and supplier/sub-tier audits
Support vendor selection, due diligence, and capability assessments, including approving/rejecting new capability requests
Maintain supplier approvals and certification validity; obtain updated approvals as needed
Prepare, maintain, and review procurement quality assurance procedures to meet customer and/or government requirements
Work Schedule / Shift
Hybrid: work from home Monday & Tuesday; onsite Wednesday & Thursday (telework < 50%)
