VDC Designer - FULLY REMOTE- NO TRAVEL
Job Description
The VDC Designer will be responsible for linking Revit files, creating and modifying schedules for drawings, and setting up view filters and templates. The role involves accurately modeling electrical equipment and light fixtures per project specifications, ensuring proper parameters for conduit racks, and resolving any clashes in the model. The designer will review and mark up drawings, ensuring corrections are made, and manage APL point placement and coding.
Responsibilities- Link Revit files efficiently.
- Create and modify schedules for drawings.
- Setup view filters and templates.
- Layout conduit racks with proper parameters, conduit spacing, conduit sizing, j-box size, and location.
- Model and clash electrical equipment and light fixtures accurately per project specifications.
- Export NWC files and rerun tests for accuracy.
- Review and markup drawings done by others and ensure corrections are made.
- Place and code APL points and export the point file from the project.
- Proficiency in Revit MEP, Navisworks, Bluebeam, and BIM 360.
- Electrical and/or specialty systems field experience.
- 5-7 years of field and/or technical experience in 2D and 3D modeling or 3-4 years of software experience.
Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or BIM Technology.
- Familiarity with NEC and BICSI codes.
- Knowledge of Google Suite, Smartsheet, and Excel.
The work environment includes working with technologies such as Revit, Navisworks, and BIM 360. The role may involve collaboration across teams and requires attention to detail in maintaining project specifications and standards.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Permanent position based out of Kansas City, MO.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $52000.00 - $95000.00/yr.
