Job Title: Project Manager – Substation Projects
Work Arrangement: Hybrid (Remote / Office)
Location: Raleigh, NC (Hybrid – 3 days onsite / 2 remote)
Duration: 6-month contract to hire
Schedule: 40 hours/week

About the RoleWe are currently seeking an experienced Substation Project Manager to support a growing portfolio within its Grid Technologies – Substations business. This role is responsible for managing multiple substation projects simultaneously, serving as the primary customer-facing point of contact while ensuring project schedules, budgets, and financial performance are met.
Each PM will manage 4–6 active projects
, primarily new-build substations (80%), with some retrofit and warranty work (20%). This is a highly visible role with full P&L ownership and close collaboration with both U.S. and global teams.
- Act as the primary customer and stakeholder interface across multiple substation projects
- Manage projects from handover through construction completion and closeout
- Lead all core project management activities including scheduling, budgeting, forecasting, risk, and change management
- Maintain full profit and loss (P&L) responsibility
- Drive continuous improvement by capturing lessons learned and reducing non-conformance costs (NCCs)
- Collaborate daily with cross-functional and international teams
- Build and deepen expertise in AIS, GIS, and substation systems
- AIS, GIS, transformers, breakers
- MV/HV gas-insulated switch gear
- Balance of Plant (BOP) equipment
- Approximately 30% travel
, dependent on project needs - Occasional international travel to Germany-based factories (passport required)

- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Management, or a related field
- 5+ years of substation experience
, preferably in a project management role - Strong customer-facing and stakeholder management skills
- Experience managing multiple projects concurrently
- Background with EPCs or OEMs such as GE, Hitachi, Burns & McDonnell, Black & Veatch, Sargent & Lundy, or Dashiell is a plus
- Ability to relocate to Raleigh, NC prior to start date (relocation assistance available)
